OUR GLOBAL EDUCATION THEME CONTINUES! As in the past two years, the Grammar School community will extend our studies to a  world service project. Specific to this year’s focus on the culture of Tanzania, TGS students will work to help provide youth from Leyeyo’s village of Longido sufficient funds to attend four years of high school. Specifically, we have established a school-wide goal of $1,000 that will be donated to LOOCIP (Longido Community Integrated Program, www.loocip.org). This is an organization that Leyeyo’s American parents, Paul Weber and Sarah Messenger, have donated to in the past.

WHEN? Throughout the month of April. It is our hope that most, if not all, of the fundraising effort will take place during April. Of course, homeroom teachers will discuss with their respective classes some flexibility in the time frame in order to meet individual schedules, needs, etc.

HOW? During the final days of March, classroom teachers will discuss with our students the goal and process of this school-wide effort. Key Points: WE WISH TO EMPHASIZE CHORES/SERVICE BENEFITS AS A MEANS TO EARN MONEY. In homerooms, students will brainstorm possible ideas. Homeroom teachers will forward these to parents.

Thank you for your support, and please feel free to contact your child’s teacher with any questions.
